One of my favorite things to do is to go blueberry picking with my husband. A few years ago we just happened to be out on a hike and noticed wild blueberry bushes! We were thrilled and decided to come back, buckets in hand, to gather our fill. It takes quite a bit longer to pick these wild blueberries as they are much smaller than typical “U-Pick” berry farms. But they are so sweet and their flavor is wonderful!

I also have some friends that have been taking advantage of local wild raspberries and blackberries. It is so much fun to be able to glean from God’s creation this way. I hope you are able to find a little berry patch near you to enjoy this summer!

*Now I must make a disclaimer – ALWAYS be sure that you are picking/eating berries that you are POSITIVE are edible. I don’t want anyone to ever think that every berry in the forest is edible, because they are not. Take extreme caution anytime you are harvesting from the wild.

And I will leave you with this little joyful moment:

Otto day 1 and 2 159

Every time I look at this photo of our pup it makes me smile. And it is how we felt after eating handfuls of our wild blueberry harvest!
